Streets

The Street Department is headquartered in a facility that is not accessible to the public. If you need to contact the Street Department, please contact City Hall at (501) 268-2483.

The Street Department’s mission is to provide and maintain transportation infrastructure to those who live, work and travel through the City of Searcy. These services include road, bridge and drainage maintenance, engineering studies and construction management. The Street Department provides emergency services during inclement weather and supports the police and fire departments in emergencies. In addition, they are responsible for street and traffic signs. It is the goal of the Street Department to provide the best and fastest service possible to all the citizens of the city within budget restraints, while keeping safety at the forefront of their operation.

State Highways within the City

There are several State Highways within Searcy. The City has no control over the maintenance of these areas. The highways and roads listed below are maintained by the Arkansas Department of Highway and Transportation.

  • Beebe Capps Expressway - Highway 36

  • Maple Street & Race Ave - Highway 16 & 67B

  • Lincoln & Queensway - Highway 267

  • Eastline Road - Hwy 367

  • Main Street - Hwy 67B (Morning Sun to Race Avenue)

  • Booth Road - East of Main Street

  • Brantley Road

  • Quality Drive

  • Highway 13

Road Improvement or Maintenance

Permission is required prior to building, maintaining, altering or cutting a street in the City of Searcy. Please contact the City Engineer (501-268-2483) to start the approval process.

Street Lights

For the safety of our citizens and visitors, the City of Searcy pays to have our city streets lit. In addition, the City pays Entergy to maintain these street lights. The Code Enforcement Department is the liaison between city residents and Entergy for reporting street light outages. To report a street light outage, please contact Code Enforcement at (501) 279-1085 between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm or email:  

To report an outage, you will need the pole number (this is a yellow and black number that is located on the pole approximately 6 feet off the ground), and the name of the street or the intersection.
