Welcome to the Official Website of the Searcy Police Department. The Searcy Police Department has 60 sworn officers, 19 non-sworn personnel, and 10 Auxiliary Officers (volunteers) serving the citizens of Searcy. Our department is only as effective as our relationship with our community. This is why we stress our Mission Statement on being community oriented.

OUR MISSION
The Searcy Police Department recognizes the responsibility of maintaining the highest standard of excellence in the performance of our duties as guardians of trust and public faith. Our primary mission is to maintain the highest standard of integrity while, equally and without bias, upholding the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Arkansas, all rules pertaining to law enforcement within the Arkansas Rules of Criminal Procedure, the laws governing the State of Arkansas, and the ordinances of the City of Searcy. Additionally, we are committed to being community oriented with an emphasis on serving our citizens with the utmost courtesy and respect. We are passionate in our efforts to serve our community in order to ensure a bright future for our city and its people.
SPD History
The Searcy Police Department has been in existence since 1879. In 1939, the City of Searcy had a Police Chief and two officers. That same year, the officers bought the first police car for the Searcy Police Department, paying for it out of their own pockets.
Dispatch Division
This is a high stress position that requires calm under pressure. The dispatch center is often the initial contact between the public and the police department, and generally the services provided begin when a dispatcher answers the telephone. The dispatch center is a vital link and has a significant impact on the quality of police services rendered.
Community Outreach
The Searcy Police Department is dedicated to building community partnerships with residents, business owners and those who visit the City of Searcy. The Outreach is designed to encourage conversation, education and participation. Some of the nationally standardized programs such as Coffee with a Cop, Juice Box Program, and National Night Out have been extremely successful and allow opportunities for personal community engagement with officers. Criminal Investigation Division
The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is responsible for investigating all felony and serious misdemeanor offenses that occur within the city. Gathering intelligence information is important for any police agency to investigate current offenses, as well as a proactive approach to prevent crime. CID is also responsible for the background investigations of all applicants for employment with the Searcy Police Department.
Crimes Against Women
The Crimes Against Women (CAW) Unit of the Criminal Investigation Division was formed as a grant funded project to better serve the sector of our community which suffers from domestic violence and related crimes, through specialized investigative work. Sex offender tracking and home visits are randomly conducted on the offenders who are registered and live within city limits.

Narcotics Division
The Narcotics Division Investigators spend much of their time speaking to concerned citizens, answering the drug task force hotline, gathering intelligence information, and working surveillance. The presence of illegal drugs in our community, as well as many communities in the United States, continues to rise.

Patrol Division
The Patrol Division is responsible for maintaining the service and law enforcement needs of the community of Searcy on a seven day a week, twenty-four hour a day basis. It is comprised of uniformed officers working all general calls for service coming into the 911 dispatch center, as well as patrol, security checks, School Resource Officers, special events, and traffic related duties. The Patrol Division is also responsible for the collection, cataloging, storage, and preservation of all evidence and found property.
School Resource Officer
The School Resource Officer (SRO) Program is a nationally implemented program involving assignment of carefully selected and specially trained law enforcement officers to work directly in the schools within that particular law enforcement's agencies jurisdiction in full cooperation with the school administrators and faculty. The Searcy Police Department currently has School Resource Officers at Searcy High School, Ahlf Junior High School, Southwest Middle School, Searcy elementary schools, and an Officer that covers Harding Academy, Sunshine School, and several other private schools.
Support Division
The Support Division strives to ensure the department's resources are spent in the most efficient way possible. This division is also responsible for providing training along with building, vehicle, and equipment maintenance.
Administration
The Administration of the Searcy Police Department includes the Chief of Police, the Major, four Lieutenants, the records clerks, and the administrative assistant.
The Records Clerk provides professional records maintenance and clerical support to the Searcy Police Department. The Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police provides professional records maintenance and clerical support, specifically, to the Police Chief of the Searcy Police Department.
Animal Control
The Animal Control Worker is a Code Enforcement Officer and is responsible for enforcing the animal code, municipal codes, ordinances or regulations involving animal incidents or offenses occurring within the City of Searcy, Arkansas.
