Safety Action Plan Engagement

The City of Searcy received a grant to fund a Safety Action Plan, part of the Federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. The goal of this plan is to identify roadways and intersections in town that are unsafe for motorists, cyclists, pedestrians, and wheelchair users, study them to determine why there are issues, and provide recommendations for improvements to make them safer for everyone. Those identified corridor or intersection improvements can then lead to additional federal grant funds to fix the issues.

The first step in the process to make Searcy safer is to get input from the public. To identify locations in Searcy that may be dangerous, we need residents to provide input by answering a short survey and dropping pins with comments on a digital map. There will also be three in-person engagement opportunities, starting with our booth at the first Farmers Market of 2026 and the Chocolate Gravy Cookoff on May 2nd.

Please help us gather input by promoting the project and the online and in-person engagement opportunities. More information can be found on the project website by visiting: SearcySafeStreets.com
