Searcy City Council Appoints New City Clerk and Treasurer
The Searcy City Council has appointed Jason Nier as the new Clerk and Treasurer, following the retirement of longtime Clerk and Treasurer Jerry Morris in May.
A native of Searcy, Nier was born and raised in the community before living in several locations across Arkansas. He later returned to his hometown and has remained rooted here. He is a 1991 graduate of Harding University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Nier brings extensive experience in finance and administration, most recently serving as a Financial Analyst for Danfoss.
“I’m honored to step into this role and serve the city I’ve always called home,” said Nier. “This community means a lot to me and my family, and I’m excited to help ensure the city’s financial operations continue to support the growth and momentum we’re seeing across Searcy.”
“Jason brings both a strong financial background and a deep personal investment in Searcy,” Mayor Mat Faulkner said. “He understands the importance of public trust, fiscal responsibility, and serving with integrity. We’re confident he’ll be a steady and capable leader in this important position.”
Nier officially began his duties as City Clerk and Treasurer this week.
