Can I burn within city limits?

According to the 2023 Ordinance 9-6 regarding the Open Burn Policy, burning within the city limits is prohibited. For any commercial an construction burns in the city limits would need to be approved by the Fire Chief, please call 501-279-1066.

How many stations does the fire department have?

The City of Searcy Fire Department operates three stations.

  • Central Station- (501)-279-1066, 501 W Beebe Capps Expy, Searcy, AR 72143

  • Station 2- (501)-279-1047, 800 Golf Course Dr, Searcy, AR 72143

  • Station 3- (501)- 279-1055, 2612 W Beebe Capps Expy, Searcy, AR 72143

Does the Searcy Fire Department offer any assistance with car seats?

Yes we do! We ensure that those in need of proper child safety seats are able to receive them, as well as providing education and checking existing seats for proper installation. For more information regarding the Child Safety Seat Program, contact Central Station: (501)-279-1066

Can I tour the fire station?

Does the Searcy Fire Department fill pools?

Unfortunately we are unable to fill pools; apparatus and personnel are required to be available at all times for emergency response.

What does the Searcy Fire Department charge for responses?

Nothing! The City of Searcy Fire Department is funded by the taxpayers of our city, and responses to calls for service are not billed.

Why is the fire truck at the grocery store?

Just like you and your family, our SFD family enjoys sitting together as a crew and sharing a meal together. Members are on-duty for 24 hours and must provide their own food. Every shift, each member of the crew pitches in and goes to the store to buy ingredients to cook meals (all while being ready to respond to an emergency!).

Why does the fire truck come when I call for an ambulance?

Each member of the Searcy Fire Department is trained to the level of Emergency Medical Technician. Our crews respond to medical emergencies in conjunction with NorthStar EMS to provide the best care available to the citizens and visitors of our city.

Can I get my fire extinguisher filled or tested at the fire station?

Unfortunately the Searcy Fire Department does not have the required equipment needed to provide this service.

Why do so many fire trucks respond to emergencies?

The City of Searcy Fire Department has set policies in regards to response per specific emergency. Each apparatus has a determined and valued role on a fire scene, and when the “false alarm” turns into a fire alarm, you can rest assured that the SFD personnel will be well equipped.

Can the Searcy Fire Department respond outside of the city limits?

The Searcy Fire Department can be requested as mutual aid by surrounding fire departments. However, SFD cannot be called to respond outside of the City of Searcy by an individual. If you are experiencing an emergency outside the City of Searcy please dial 911.

What is the schedule of a Searcy Firefighter?

24 hours on duty followed by 48 hours off duty.
