My name is Steve Spurlock .  I was born and raised in Searcy.  I am 42 years old.  I have a wife, Kathy, who I have been married to for 16 years now.  She has two children, Amanda and Jason that I helped raise.  Jason has blessed us with one grandchild, Emily Rose Wilbanks. I started in Law Enforcement in 1985 at the White County Sheriff’s Department, on the Auxillary.  In 1987, I started full time as a Deputy.  In 1988 I graduated from ALETA.  While at the Sheriffs Department, I handled Arco, the county’s K-9. In 1990, I went to work at the Judsonia Police Department as a Patrolman and on the Volunteer Fire Department.  I worked there until 1995. In 1995, I got out of Law Enforcement and went to work for a company out of Little Rock named Schueck Steel.  We built steel mills and power plants.  There I started out as a welder.  I then got promoted to foreman over my own crew.  I then made Safety Coordinator.  My wife and I traveled all over the United States. In 2001, I went to work for the Searcy Police Department as a Patrolman.  I am still currently holding a Patrolman’s position.
