My name is Ricky Shourd . I grew up in Searcy and graduated from Searcy High School in 1976. I have been working with the Searcy Police Department since 1978. I joined the Searcy Police Department in April and went to work in the Patrol Division. In 1987, I was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division where I was a Criminal Detective. In 1989, I was transferred to the Narcotics Division where I worked as an undercover investigator. In that same year, I was able to attend a Hostage Rescue and Sniper course and was certified as a state sniper at Fort Chafee in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In 1991, In February of 1992, I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and worked in the Support Division of the Police Department. In April of 2004, I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was placed in charge of the Searcy Narcotics Division. During my 25 years with the Searcy Police Department, I have received over 2,000 hours of professional training.
