Lola Philpott |
My name is Lola Philpott and I am a 1997 graduate of Harding University. I have a B. A. in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism. My husband, David is also a graduate of Harding University and he owns his own business as a Home Builder. I began working in country radio when I was 15 and was just sure shootin’ I wanted to do that the rest of my life! I worked for many radio stations for the next 10 years as a DJ and Music Director before finally deciding I wanted to try something new. In 1998, I was employed at the White County Sheriff’s Department in the detention center as the Medical Coordinator. I thoroughly enjoyed this position and was sad when I had to leave in 2000 to move with my family to NW Arkansas. We lived in West Fork for 4 years before returning to Searcy in January 2004. I joined the Searcy Police Department’s Dispatch team in July and so far, I find this job to be very rewarding. The hours are crazy, the job itself is unpredictable and I never know from one day to the next if I’ll have a busy day at work or not. But so far so good! My hobbies include spending time with my family, camping, swimming, genealogy (which is my drug of choice!), antiques, 4 wheeling, and I still really enjoy country music! Especially the sad, lonely, crying, cheating, wailing, I’m so lonesome I could cry songs! |
