Alza Cheek |
My name is Alza Cheek . I am 47 years old. I have two daughters and am married to Detective Sergeant Fred Cheek, Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) for the White County Sheriff’s office. I was born and raised in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. In 1987, five years after my tour of duty as a Military Police Officer in the Army, my daughters and I moved to Jacksonville, AR. I started my career in the civilian world of Law Enforcement with the Jacksonville Police Department. I have a total of 11 years of working in jails and as a 911 dispatcher, and then I was given the opportunity to attend and graduated from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy where I became a Certified Police Officer. In June of 2003, I stated working for the Searcy Police Department as a Detective assigned to the Crimes Against Women Unit. This is a gratifying experience for me. I have been able to attend Domestic Violence Seminars and workshops, and receive training such as Basic Crime Scene Processing, Crime Scene Photography and Sexual Assault classes, plus many more. This training has allowed our Unit to help our community by offering awareness presentations to high school students, EMS personnel, and domestic abuse victims. I thank the Searcy Police Department for allowing me the opportunity to do a job I love.
