My name is Carl VanWinkle . I was born and raised in northern California. After high school, I joined the U.S. Air Force. I served in Vietnam and was awarded a Bronze Star and an Air Medal for actions during combat. After 21 years, I retired from the U.S. Air Force with a rank of Master Sergeant. In 1990, I went to work for the Searcy Police Department. I was assigned to the Patrol Division until 1994, when I went to work for the Drug Task Force working undercover and later as the Chief Investigator. I was then reassigned to the Patrol Division and to the Bicycle Patrol. In 2004, I was again assigned to the Searcy Police Department Narcotics Division. I have received several awards from M.A.D.D. and the Arkansas State Police for D.W.I. Enforcement. I am a certified Law Enforcement, Radar and Standardized Field Sobriety Instructor.
