Lieutenant Stephaine Tapp-Inman

I am Lieutenant Stephaine Tapp-Inman . I have been with the Searcy Police Department since 1994, beginning with the Patrol Division. I transferred to the Support Services Division in late 1995. While assigned to the Support Division, I became a "Be a Winner" instructor and taught 6th graders to "choose not to use drugs," for four years.  I also wrote two grants for the police department during this tour.  In 1998, I was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division.  During my tour I was trained to investigate exploited and abused children through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.  I was also the department’s first detective to complete the Arkansas Criminal Justice Institute's training on Crime Scene Technician.  In 1999, I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. I supervised the Criminal Investigation Division from March 2000 until March of 2004.

 

In January 2000, I was assigned to the Crimes Against Women Unit, investigating domestic violence against women.  During my tour in CID, I obtained my Law Enforcement Instructor's Certificate from the FBI in 1999, as well as the Senior Certificate in law enforcement in 2003.  In 2001, I became a Hostage Negotiator receiving training from the FBI and ASP.  I also have received training in Death & Rape investigations and a host of others pertaining to Criminal Investigations and Community Policing. In April 2003, I graduated from the School of Law Enforcement Supervision sponsored by Arkansas's Law Enforcement Management Center.  In March 2004, I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, supervising the Uniformed Patrol Division, where I am still assigned.

I received an Associates of Liberal Arts Degree in 1989 from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX. In 1994, I received a Bachelors of Arts Degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, majoring in Criminal Justice and Business. I am a member of  NAFE, Oxfords Who's Who, AMPA and the PBA.  My husband, Terry & I have three children and are blessed to have such a great community to raise them in. My hobbies include family time and keeping up with our daughter's after school activities. My family and I attend the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Searcy.
