Jolyn Cox
My name is Jolyn Cox and I am 24 years old.  I was born in the great city of Searcy and raised in all parts of White County.  I graduated with honors from Bradford High School in 1999.  I was employed by White County Sheriff’s office in December 1999 and worked in the jail and a little in dispatch for a total of 3 years.  While working at the jail, I met a co-worker who became my husband, Adam Cox, who is currently in Iraq serving in the 39 th Infantry Brigade of the Army.  His civilian occupation is a police officer for the Jacksonville Police Department.  In December 2002, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl, Avery.  March of 2003 to July 2003, I worked for University of Arkansas Medical Sciences (UAMS) Police Department as a dispatcher.  In July 2003, I was wonderfully accepted at the Searcy Police Department dispatch center.

My duties consist of handling public service and 911 calls, dispatching them to the police officer or Fire Department, and/or transferring to Northstar Ambulance making sure each call gets to the appropriate personnel. I run any and all checks for Drivers License and License Plates by request of officers.  Tend to the NAWAS phone which alerts agencies of oncoming hazardous weather in which dispatchers activate the storm sirens to advise the citizens of oncoming severe weather.  I am a level 2 certified ACIC ( Arkansas Crime Information Center) terminal operator.  I am very proud to say that I work in dispatch for the Searcy Police Department.
