Searcy Aircraft Interior Expands Business State Commission to Meet in Searcy

Searcy Aircraft Interior Expands Business The rough and tumble economy of the 1980's left Bill Sizemore on the ropes. High interest rates had ruined his construction business and Bill began looking fo rsomething better. Things turned for the better when Bill set up an upholstery shop at Searcy Municipal Airport in Hangar S-7. At first, business consisted mainly of vehicles instead of aircraft. That was the only way to make ends meet. The airport commission, seeking to make sure businesses on the airport were aviation related, directed Bill to have mostly aircraft interior work in hes shop within about three years. It took a bit longer to reach that goal, but today, Bill's business is 100 percent aircraft interior work. Bill's first location worked fine for the smaller aircraft that he first worked on, but in the last few years, bigger and bigger aircraft came in for work. When a much larger hangar next door became available, Bill jumped at the change to expand his work area. |
Today, Bell along with his brother Harry Ed Sizemore, sister Charlise Poole, and a neice, Michelle Willis, crater to a growing list of customers who bring their aircraft in from all over the state to have interior work done. Bill recently completed work on a Bell Jet Ranger leicopter that tuned out so will that he anticipates more helicopter business soon. Currently, Bill is reupholstering a Cessna Cituation and will soon start work on a Falcon 20 interior. Searcy Aircraft Interiors can be reached at 268-1597.
